Hurray for Spring!

Hurray for Spring – time to clean the windows and let in the sun!

One of the students I’ve been working with almost fell off her stool when I proved I could indeed ask for 2 beetroots in Moroccan!

The 6th form BTEC students are busy designing and making glamorous ‘own label’ red dresses and once a week I’m there to aid and abet, maybe to give a different point of view, think about things from another position – very stimulating for me and I hope for them.

A recent short holiday chez my friend in Morocco resulted in the beetroot purchases – she suddenly had to be in hospital; I suddenly had to be the cook! She is the brilliant and witty ceramicist Stephenie Bergman, an old schoolfriend. She’s better now by the way, and I had the chance to read and draw and drowse in the sun.

Sarah Campbell Designs undertakes a wide range of projects from one-off commissions and unique pieces to textile design for the high street.

The hand-made range includes unique cards collaged from vintage fabrics from the Collier Campbell archive, giftwrap handprinted on mulberry papers, and hand-painted silk scarves – each one of these an artwork in its own right.

The exciting range of printed greeting cards and a small edition of the 2012 Calendar A Painter’s Year show many new images taken from Sarah’s paintings and patterns – animals, flowers, gardens, notions – ready for you to add your own message.

Commissions for work for special occasions and events will be happily considered. From time to time we will also offer for sale some original works from a collection of selected paintings.

The Sarah Campbell Design studio continues Sarah’s long and successful relationship with the High Street, working with manufacturers and retailers to produce new and distinctive patterns for the home.
